The annual ARTS GALA, sponsored by the Athens Area Council for the Auxiliary, was held on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the new Athens ARTS CENTER located at 320 North White Street in Athens. Auxiliary members and arts council volunteers were excited about showcasing the new Arts Center as a venue for a great party!
The 2006 Gala featured a cocktail buffet, the music of the McMinn Jazz Society, followed by the dance band, JOBE, as well as a silent and oral auction. The silent auction and cash bar opened at 6:30 PM, accompanied by the sounds of the McMinn Jazz Society under the direction of Timothy Hughes. Light hors d'eovres were offered until the end of the oral auction when a cocktail buffet was available. The Auxiliary and Restaurant Concepts Catering worked towards a jazz/bistro theme for the evening, and the attire was dressy and black tie optional.
CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES
The first Sunday in December marks the annual Christmas Tour of Homes. Four to six homes or churches will be featured on the tour which begins at 1:00 pm and continues throughout the afternoon. Tickets may be purchased in November at several ticket outlets or the AACA Office. Call for details.
